Business Analytics Program Overview

The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University built its online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) to prepare business and analytics professionals to thrive in the data-driven future. As a result, the MSBA helps graduates go beyond simply crunching numbers. Is an MS in Business Analytics From Tepper Right for Me?

The MSBA is geared to individuals with quantitative backgrounds who want to develop their analytical expertise alongside the business and communication skills needed to make their analyses more impactful. If you’re someone who knows businesses today could do a better job using data, and you want to be part of making that happen, we’re interested in hearing from you.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. Some have little direct background with analytics but want to build the foundation for entering the field. Other students have extensive experience as analysts, analytics managers, consultants and other quantitative roles, and are looking to hone their mastery of analytics and business strategy.

Tepper MSBA students share a passion for using data to make better decisions and seek to learn alongside peers who are just as driven and talented as they are. The online M.S. in Business Analytics has been tailored to equip students with the unique set of skills that organizations need to stay competitive in an increasingly data-driven world.

The MSBA can be completed part-time in 18 months and provides students with opportunities to build foundational business knowledge, practical experience using analytics and the communication skills to persuade stakeholders to take action.

Zachary Lipton
